HANOI -- Vietnam's tuna export turnover reached 693 million U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of 2023, falling 22 percent year on year and ranking third among aquatic products, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday, citing the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

The United States, Israel, Thailand, Japan, Canada, and Germany were Vietnam's biggest tuna importers. (Vietnam-Tuna Export)

BANGKOK -- Thailand's economy expanded 1.5 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier, weighed down by slowing exports and government spending, the country's economic planning agency said on Monday.

This marked an eighth straight period of growth but the softest in the last three quarters, easing from 1.8 percent in April-June and 2.6 percent in January-March, according to the data released by the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council. (Thailand-Economy Growth)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Economists at research houses have foreseen gradual economic recovery for Malaysia ahead despite its third-quarter economy growing weaker than expected.

UOB Global Economics and Markets Research said in a note on Monday that the larger seasonally adjusted gross domestic product growth implies the persistence of a gradual recovery in the economy in the fourth quarter, which the research house estimated at about 4 percent year on year. PHNOM PENH -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Monday launched a stimulus package of 100 million U.S. dollars to boost the development of the agricultural sector.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh reported 1,291 new dengue cases and six more deaths on Sunday, bringing the tally to 301,225 and the death toll to 1,549 since January this year, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
