BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday sent a message of condolence to Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua over severe floods in southern Thailand.
In his message, Xi said he was shocked to learn of the heavy casualties and property losses caused by the severe floods in multiple areas of southern Thailand.
On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi mourned those killed, and offered sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and affected people.
Xi noted that China and Thailand are close and friendly neighbors as well as a community of shared future, with profound friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
Xi said China is willing to provide assistance within its capacity to support the people in the disaster-stricken areas to overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes at an early date.
