Myanmar, Thailand strengthen cross-border health cooperation

YANGON, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar and Thailand held a bilateral workshop in the border town of Tachileik in eastern Myanmar on Tuesday to enhance cross-border healthcare cooperation, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the meeting was attended by officials from both countries and focused on strengthening collaboration in key health areas, including infectious disease surveillance and control along the border, maternal and child healthcare, and hospital medical services.

They also discussed cooperation on twin hospitals projects in border regions, as well as the appointment of designated representatives to coordinate cooperation between hospitals in both countries, the report added.
