China says it hopes for stability in Thailand after Constitutional Court removes PM

BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- China hopes Thailand will maintain stability and continue to prosper, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Saturday after Paetongtarn Shinawatra was removed from her position as Thai prime minister.

On Aug. 29, the Constitutional Court of Thailand ruled that Paetongtarn violated constitutional provisions and removed her from office.

"This is Thailand's domestic affair. As Thailand's close and friendly neighbor, we hope the country will maintain stability and continue to prosper," the spokesperson said.
